Day Nine: Jetted to the White House

Posted on Monday, 5/11/2015

Our ninth day began early, before dawn, with an exciting surprise: a congregant had given us use of his private jet to go to Washington for a few hours to see the White House. What a luxury!

No waiting for the plane, no standing in line, no annoying passengers on the flight… This was a first (and probably last!) for all of us.

When we arrived in Washington we ate a quick breakfast, dashed over to see the White House and the Lincoln Memorial, ate lunch and then drive back to the airport for the plane ride back. What a treat!

Back in New York, we attended an evening of recognition organized by the community. Two hundred members of the Chabad Israel Center community joined together to honor and thank the soldiers at a gala dinner. It was a wonderful end to our full and exciting day.
