Today we reunited with the soldiers and their therapeutic puppies at the Belev Echad Headquarters in Israel for the weekly dog training course. 🐶 We reviewed basic skills and practiced new tricks on dog obstacles built on the farm. Next Tuesday we will resume Mixed Martial Arts classes taught by our instructor, Doron Akiva. We are excited to meet with the soldiers. Before the class, Doron would like to share some of the exercises he will be teaching for you to practice at home. “Hello everyone, I am Doron Akiva and I am the Belev Echad MMA instructor. I will show you some exercises that you can do at home to keep fit and get stronger. First exercise - Robotic Get on all fours and raise a hand and opposite leg parallel to the ground. It is important to keep your leg straight and use your core muscles. Do 10 reps then move on to the next exercise - Cobra Push This is a form of a push-up - Start in plank position and move down into a push-up in a wavy motion. Do 10 reps of this exercise, then do 10Jump Squats. Do all 3 exercises 5 sets, 10 reps each. Today was our first meetup in two months! Five of our Belev Echad wounded soldiers joined together at the Herzliya Surf Center for the Waters of Healing Program. They warmed up with balancing exercises to prepare them for getting back on the boards. 🏄 It was a great first day back with the soldiers and we are looking forward to many more exciting activities! #belevechad #woundedwarriors #idfveterans #idf #israel #israeli #soldiers #heroes #watersofhealing #surf

After months of quiet in the West Bank due to COVID-19, attacks against the IDF are on the rise as concerns for the virus come to an end. Shadi Ibrahim, 20 year-old combat soldier, was injured today in a terrorist car ramming near Mount Hebron. He was evacuated to Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva and the terrorist was neutralized by a fellow soldier. This is the third attack against IDF troops in the past 48 hours. The soldier is in moderate to serious condition, but stable and conscious. The Belev Echad team in Israel will be visiting him in the hospital when his condition improves. May we know peaceful days soon!

We are very excited to announce that after two months of restrictions and meetings only via zoom, we are slowly restarting our programs for the wounded soldiers in Israel. As Israel begins to lift the restrictions, our team at the Belev Echad Headquarters prepares for the reimplementation of all programs and is excited to reunite with our soldiers. Baruch dayan emet Sgt. Amit Ben Ygal An IDF soldier was killed today by a rock thrown on his head during the arrest of terrorists in Ya’bad village near Jenin. He was an only child who insisted on being a fighter in the Golani brigade! May his memory be a blessing!

This has been a very difficult period for most of us on an emotional level. Being in isolation is very challenging even more so for some of our wounded IDF soldiers. Thankfully, the therapeutic puppies given to them have been a great companion to get through these tough times.
