On October 7th, glued to our phones and trapped in a dark headspace, Ron’s faith and life changed forever. Ron was sent on a rescue mission to help fellow soldiers and was less than a kilometer away when suddenly disaster struck. Hit by an anti-tank missile, Ron was thrown out of his vehicle from a blast, losing his arm as well as his good friend Dolev. While laying alone, in sheer pain, 18 of his friends were also killed fighting bravely against 150 terrorists. After 2 hours, Ron was finally evacuated to Soroka via helicopter, where he was placed on a ventilator for a week.
Ron, like many wounded IDF soldiers, became a member of the Belev Echad family. A family dedicated to restoring the vibrant lives of our soldiers through physical, medical, legal, emotional, and financial support. Having helped the community before, we were eager to do what we could when Ron asked for help in affording his prosthetic arm costing $150k. While our personal contribution can make a small difference, we are hoping for your help in making a big difference in Ron’s life. With our trip to Israel next month we will personally share your love and support with Ron and the Belev Echad community.
