You gave him his life back

Gal lost his mother when he was still a boy. He learned early how to carry pain that nobody sees.

Then came the war. Gal was wounded 3 times in combat.

After the third injury, he lost several of his fingers.

He suffered a severe head injury that changed every part of his life.

“I remember lying there thinking not about the future, but whether I would even have one.”

That is when Belev Echad brought him to New York. We found the specialists. We fought for treatments no one had offered him before. We gave him the surgeries, the rehabilitation, the months of care that followed.

But what changed his life was not only the medicine.

It was the community. You drove him to appointments. You invited him for Shabbat. You opened your homes. You checked on him on the hardest nights.

“After losing my mother, there was always a certain emptiness in my life. And somehow, thousands of miles from Israel, all of you gave that back to me.”

Today, Gal is receiving new fingers. His pain is finally under control. Next month, he returns home to Israel with a future he once believed was gone.

There is another wounded soldier on his way to New York right now.

He will arrive broken, in pain, far from home.

He needs what Gal needed.

Help us give him what he needs to heal.
